I bought this painting from a street painter in Varna. Sadly I didn't get his name and I actually also don't know if he was the real painter or just selling it for somebody else.
Also there could be some copyright issues taking pictures of the paintings and putting them up on the internet, so remember always to get permission if you are going to do this. If the real painter of this image sees his image here, please feel free to contact me and I will compensate you or take the picture down.
You can get lucky to get some nice looking art and good deals of the artist that sell on the street. So don't miss the chance to comment on his or her art if you like something you see.
Here is the story and my project.
I really like the image (or would actually really like to love it). Both the dancers and the colors, black, red, yellow and the that there was something eerie about the image. The mysterius background looking like they are dancing in the woods in front of a fire or some kind of strange background. With some sort of black bat looking smudges. But the couple don't notice this. The woman seems mesmorized by the man unaware of the setting she and he are in.
When I brought it home, I didn't think the white frame incapsulated the story. I thought I might look better with a black frame.
So I painted it black. And this was the result:
I thought it captures the dark and mysterious side of the motive a lot better.
Sadly my hate and love for the image doesn't stop here. Every time I sit down and look closely at the image I am annoyed over the large smudge that the painter have made from the mans neck and to the right. Maybe the painter was in a hurry and didn't like the background or how it turned out so he desided to "improve" it by doing that.
I did think about finding another painter to redo this image and someday I might do that.
But for a painting that only costs about 50 leva (about €26) I think we can afford to experiment a little.
I wanted to see what our new AI friends could do with this. Creators and artist are a little afraid that they will be replaced by AI in the future because it can generate stories and art. I have a different view of that, but I will save it for some other time.
If you want to generate a similiar picture by an AI you have to do a couple of things:

For number 1 - why not let another AI generate the description. So I uploaded this to ChatGPT 4.0 an this was what it came up with:

It is not at all bad and maybe something you could hang on a wall. That is - if you can ignore the strange leg positioning and the too many arms on the woman...

I love my love-hate relationship with my painting that I bought a sunny autumn day in Varna...
But the story does not quite end here. I wanted to try to see what it looked like in another frame. So I printed it and framed it in these two different ways:
And actually I regret to say that the white frame with the black border suits the painting quite well.
